No matter your thoughts about her parents and how wrong it was to leave her alone in that apartment with her twin brother and sister that fateful night when they dined nearby, it doesn't escape the fact that this beautiful girl is STILL missing and has now spent more of her life with her abductors than she has with her parents. In fact my friend, who's son was born on the exact same day that Maddy went missing once said that everytime she heard about Maddy she thought about how every day she has spent with her son is a day Maddy's parents had spent without her!
Nobody should forget about her, because that little girl is out there somewhere!
Madeleine McCann was on holiday with her parents and younger twin siblings in the Algarve region of Portugal, in the resort of Praia da Luz, shortly before her 4th birthday. On the fateful night of Thursday the 3rd of May 2007 her parents dined with some friends in a restaurant about 120 meters (130 yards) away from the ground floor bedroom where the children slept unsupervised in an unlocked apartment with plans to check on them regularly. Sometime that evening, between 8.30pm and 10pm, someone crept into the apartment and took Madeleine. At around 10pm her mother Kate returned to check on the children and found Madeleine's bed empty and the bedroom window open.
Despite an extensive search and worldwide publicity, Madeleine has never been found. Believing her parents had killed her the Portuguese police failed to follow up on clues and are still refusing to re-open her case, even though Scotland Yard have reopened the case and have stated that they believe she is still alive.
Maddy and her parents need YOUR help. Spread the news far and wide, study this picture and share it. Together we CAN find Madeleine and return her home to her parents!!!
Here is Madeleine aged 3. Study her right eye, can you see the distinct mark in her eye. This will help identify her.
This is an age-progression picture of what Madeleine looks like aged 9. It is shocking to see how much she has grown as she still is imagined to be the 3yr old who was taken, you forget that she grows up as the years pass!

Here is a letter Kate and Gerry McCann recently wrote;
It’s hard to define succinctly how it feels to have reached five years without Madeleine. Impossible, heart-breaking, frightening, exasperating, incomprehensible. Sometimes it feels like forever and at other times, just like yesterday.What is certain though is that since the Metropolitan Police review was commenced last May, the chances of finding Madeleine and discovering what happened are now significantly greater. Additionally, albeit less importantly, our lives and those of our family have been much more bearable over the past year, simply by knowing those stones are finally being turned.We hope that the investigation will be reopened in Portugal soon, as this will give us the best possible chance of finding Madeleine and the person who committed this crime - of solving the case. The term ‘mystery’ (commonly used by the media) is not applicable until all possible avenues have been explored. They haven’t been, and can’t be until the case is reopened.The age-progression image of Madeleine released last week is an important tool in the search for Madeleine. We believe this image bears a strong resemblance to what Madeleine will look like now. Please help us by distributing this image as far and wide as you can. Someone might just recognise her.Abducted children have been found many years following their disappearance. We cannot give up. We won’t give up. Please keep looking for Madeleine.
