1. My daughters took part in a sponsored walk last Saturday along the Wales Coast Path and to raise money for their local Rainbow and Brownie groups. DD1 really took getting sponsors to heart and has managed to raise a fantastic £140!!! For a little girl who was so shy she would hide behind my legs, she was confidently going up to people when we were shopping in Iceland and asking them if the would sponsor her. She left Iceland having raised her first £20 and just went on from there to raise such an amazing amount. Then on Saturday DS went out for the day with my parents and hubby took the girls on their 5 mile walk arriving back just as I was leaving for work, tired and cold but pleased they had done it.
2. Monday was a bank holiday and hubby wasn't working so we were able to spend the day as a family at a local steam railway having a fun filled time (will be writing a review on the steam train later today)
3. As it's raining again today in Wales I find myself being thankful about the rain. Because Wales has a lot of rain (because of all the mountains and coast) it means we so very rarely suffer from droughts or hosepipe bans and this is the reason Wales is known for the Green Green Grass of Home. I'm grateful that I can walk the kids to school, regardless of the weather, and they enjoy it just as much when it's raining and splashing in puddles as they do walking when it's sunny or dry. I'm also glad because I know there are a lot of places that would love as much rain as we get!
