Organix Mighty Meal and Goodies Snacks Review

Much to my 2yr old's delight, we were sent snacks from Organix's Goodies range. But the big question was... would they tempt her away from her beloved crisps!!!

The first thing we gave her to try, was their Tasty Beef Stew and Dumplings Mighty Meal.
*Mighty Meals are advertised as "nutritious, wholesome meals perfect for growing toddlers ready to move on from baby puree with lumps to more textured foods. Lovingly packed full of chunky ingredients you can see and your toddler can bite into."*

This wasn't very popular with her, she didn't like the look of it and refused to try it at all, but then she is a very picky eater when it comes to food, preferring her beloved crisps. 5yr old sister also tried it but didn't like it. 9yr old brother also had a taste and although he ate it, he did say it was missing something and tasted a bit boring.

However, I'm not a lover of stew and dumplings myself, so I would be willing to try one of their other flavours of mighty meals, such as; Herby Salmon and Potato Bites, Vegetable and Chicken Korma, Pork Meatballs, Hearty Lamb Hotpot, Creamy Chicken Pasta, Tomatoey Beef Bolognaise or Spinach Falafels.  Some of which sound yummy and might appeal better than Stew and Dumplings!

We were also sent some snacks for her to try from their Goodies range of snacks.

Out of all the snacks we were sent, the baby's favourite had to be the Mini Gingerbread Men, which she refused to share with her older siblings, much to their disgust! The Gingerbread men contain organic wholegrain flour and sweetened with grape juice.

We were also sent some Cheese and Herb Puffs, which she enjoyed as much as her usual junk filled crisps and could be a good way of getting her off junk food and onto more healthier crisps! The Puffs are made with organic ingredients including cheese and a sprinkle of herbs, but no hidden junk and best of all, salt and fat levels are at least a third less than in most children's snacks!

She enjoyed the Mini Cheese Crackers as well and another alternative to crisps or similar products. The oven baked bite-size savoury cheese crackers are made with real organic cheese and organic wheat and rice flours.

The other snacks we were sent she wasn't as keen on. But her older sisters enjoyed them and her brother was upset nobody shared with him!

The first was Raisins and Apricots, which my 5yr old who adores raisins enjoyed immensely and asked for more once she had finished. Straight from the organic grape vines of California and dried naturally in the sun, the Raisins and Apricots have no artificial additives or sugar and one individual bag is 1 portion of a child's 5-a-day!

Next was a Raspberry and Apple Soft Oaty Bars which the baby ate half of before giving to her older sister who enjoyed it. The Oaty bars are made with a blend of organic wholegrain oats, raisins, coconut, apple and raspberry juice. I don't think the baby liked it as she doesn't like raisins, but her sister did!

Finally we had a Sweetcorn and Red Pepper Veg and Oat Bar. Sadly this was the one snack that no one seemed to like, despite being passed around all four. It might just have been the pepper as they won't eat the peppers in their meals, but just because they didn't like one bar doesn't mean they won't like others which I will buy for them to try! The Veg and Oat bars are a savoury snack which are ideal for hungry children who have just come out of school and being savoury might keep the hungar at bay until tea time!

Overall I was very impressed with the Organix and the Goodies range and I like the fact I will be giving my children healthy snacks rather than junk food, especially after school when they always want to raid the cupboards as they are hungry and it is a long time till tea!!! I also don't think I will limit these to just my toddler as I know my older children will enjoy them as well.

Organix Goodies have their own website, which along with information on ALL their products, they also have Fun and Games with ideas and downloadable activities for parties, Recipes to make at home, a Meal Planner to help introduce your baby to food and handy Tips and Advice on feeding toddlers.

Last but not least, they have Taste for Life, a new pre-school education programme providing fun and motivational ways to encourage children to love their fruit and vegetables without tears and tantrums! something I will definitely be checking out as my children sadly seem to have inherited my dislike of fruit and vegetables!!!

You can find Organix and Goodies on Facebook and on Twitter as well!

We were sent one of each product listed above from Organix on the understanding I would write and honest opinion of the products. I recieved no payment and the review is written in my own words (except where stated) and is my own honest and unbiased opinion of the products.
